Our Newbiggin self catering cottages occupy an amazing Lake District Fringes location, between Penrith and Keswick close to Ullswater, the Lake District fells, and the Eden Valley.

A holiday in Newbiggin represents a fantastic opportunity to explore this pleasant, quiet fishing port. Making good use of traditional coble boats. Fishing has always been related with Newbiggin, but later in time, many residents were employed in coal mining.

Situated in Northumberland the town’s attractions include a golf club, a 13th century St Bartholomew's Church, and the Maritime Centre. The Maritime is a really good centre with a café that is well staffed by a friendly team offering delicious food. The centre has monthly exhibitions by local artists and is an ideal learning space along with a small shop.

It was Northumberland's favourite seaside town back in Victorian times. Attracting hundreds of people every summer holiday. The local beach is a lovely sandy one. Visitors will enjoy ‘The Couples Statue' the statues of a young couple, on a platform, looking out to see. They are actually three times life size but as they are some way out to see it is easy to imagine they are life size. There is also a smaller version on land. Definitely worth a look if you're in the area.

Newbiggin cottages offer the chance to completely get away from it all, located in a tranquil place with a relaxing beach, friendly people, and wonderful views.
