Lantern House is a delightful place to stay and is a real gem, it has been renovated and refurbished with so much thought and attention to detail. It is perfect for that two family holiday or a group of couples or a get together of friends. All ages have been catered for in the property. It really is worth a visit. There are an abundance of things to do and places to visit in Alston and Alston Moor and guests may be hard pressed to decide which is a favourite. The South Tynedale Railway offers a taste of bygone days and it is a great way to see some of the lovely countryside. The Roman Wall with its visitors centres are a short drive away, Killhope Mine is 10 miles away. High Force England's largest waterfall located in the Tees Valley approx. 15 miles from Alston. The drive over Hartside Pass with bring you into the charming Eden Valley with the Northern Lakes nearby, Keswick being only around 35 miles away.
