Catterlen Hall was once a pele tower built in 1460 for safeguarding. It has some very interesting architectural extensions that have been added over the years; pink sandstone, projecting waterspouts and a spiral internal staircase. A charming historic building worth looking at if you're in the area.

There are plenty of pubs located nearby Catterlen. ‘The Sun Inn' is a 17th-century coaching Inn, providing an great range of fine wines amp; quality food, real ales, and terrific service. It is a short distance drive to Penrith but attracts visitors from all around the northern Lake District.

Situated in the Lake District Fringes, Catterlen is close to Ullswater Lake, an ideal destination for tourists who wish to visit Eden Valley and the Lake District.
