Culgaith is a village in East Cumbria, within the designated North Pennines ĎArea of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. There are lovely walks around the village and surrounding countryside, allowing visitors to Culgaith self catering properties to get a sense of this lovely community and its natural environment. Culgaith sits in the beautiful Eden Valley and rests right at the foot of Cross Fell, the highest point of the North Pennines, the backbone of Britain. It really is a rural holiday location with lots going for it.

Culgaith lies between the market towns of Penrith and Appleby, with either an interesting visit and perfect place to stock up on essential supplies, arts, and crafts or to go for a nice meal in one of the many pleasant cafes, restaurants and pubs. Culgaith itself also has a friendly local pub serving delicious food, perfect for a night where you don't want to cook and don't want to head out in the car. For days out, as well as the immediate attractions of the Eden Valley and North Pennines, Ullswater is close by and most of the Lake District can be easily reached in the course of one outing. You can also reach the Yorkshire Dales. An interesting way to do this is to hop on the Settle to Carlisle railway at nearby Langwathby, and take a day trip to the Dales on one of the most scenic rail routes in the world.

Culgaith cottages offer the chance to completely get away from it all, located in a tranquil place with the spectacular countryside, friendly people, and wonderful views. Culgaith is just one of the locations of Absolute Escapes Eden Valley Cottages.
