EDENHALL SELF CATERING COTTAGE HOLIDAY SELECTION

Displaying cottages near Edenhall.

Edenhall holiday cottages are a peaceful and wonderful place to stay, located just to the north of the Eden Valley in Cumbria. The village has some wonderful houses dotted around, a day spa and 26 acres of spectacular views of the Tweed Valley. We recommend walking to St Cuthbert's church where there is a nearby public footpath connected along the River Eden. Our Edenhall, Eden valley cottages offer the chance to completely get away from it all, located in a tranquil place with beautiful countryside, friendly people, and historical sites.

The 19th Century Eden Hall was a mansion situated in the park, home of the Musgrave family. Built and designed for Sir Philip Musgrave with stone structure and Italian style architecture, the walls were furnished with paintings and family portraits. The hall was knocked down in 1934 but left its 19th-century courtyard of stables and coach houses, which has been divided into several properties retaining some stables. Carefully preserved at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London is an acclaimed drinking glass, called the Luck of Eden Hall, once owned by the Musgrave Family. A legend says that if the glass breaks the luck of Edenhall will be gone.
